Scientific works: "Guide to Science, the three-volume setUnderstanding Physics, and Asimov's Chronology of Science and Discovery, as well as works on astronomymathematicshistoryWilliam Shakespeare's writing, and chemistry."

"Asimov began reading science fiction pulp magazines at a young age.[25] His father, as a matter of principle, forbade reading the pulps, as he considered them to be trash, but Asimov persuaded him that the science fiction magazines had "Science" in the title, so they were educational. Around the age of 11, he began to write his own stories, and by age 19, after he discovered science fiction fandom, he was selling stories to the science fiction magazines".

In "Foundation" we see how superiority in knowledge allows citizens of the Foundation to dominate and take over the Galaxy. "Using its scientific advantage, Terminus develops trade routes with nearby planets, eventually taking them over when its technology becomes a much-needed commodity."
